That busy weekend.

So, my weekend of the move has been and gone. The highlight of that weekend was my good friends hens night. Her sister and MOH a.k.a wedding planner superstar organised everything perfectly. She even had hand made origami  It was held at the Winery in Surry hills. I have been there a few times for a couple of occasions and I haven't really ever been disappointed.

Especially when dessert looks like this...
OOOh so delicious Brownie.

On a different note. One week in to living back at home has been nice. It's been nice to come home and have dinner cooked for you (I contribute to the cooking too). Mum made a lamb roast for dinner last night and we also had a belated birthday cake for me . I just hope I dont get too used to it or M is up for a lot of cooking duty! :D

Moved

So, I've been a week back in the nest now. I am so glad to have gotten through it all. I was exhausted at the end of last weekend but it turned out ok. I am settling in and when I can find my camera I will post about my storage container and how my life now mostly fits in there. Also how I am coping with home cooked meals every night..... a tough thing to get used to I can assure you ;P

My life fits into a few boxes

So, I'm still packing. My room is now packed entirely. I can not for the life of me tell you why I moved most of that stuff the last 4 times I moved. My clothes are now either in the bin, donated a bit of it and now it fits into 4 bags. There was a lot of clothing that just didn't fit or I didn't wear or just wasn't flattering. I had to love it or it was out. So now I just have to go shopping which kind of defeats the purpose of moving home and saving money. Geez. Anyway. 4 more sleeps until I will be back in the nest. Things will be a lot different and I dont think I will be posting as often as the nest has 2 internet hungry brothers and a slow wireless connection.

Food

Quick Food shot. I had a birthday dinner at a local Thai restaurant. The food was good but I have to say for the first time the service was pretty non existent.

Volcanic Chicken
I've woken up today all sinusy and blah feeling and I have a day of house packing to do. Fun Fun

Dinner

So, yesterday was my 25th birthday! I posted my outfit yesterday. M took me to Zimzala in Cronulla. I was too consumed with consuming the food to take photos of it and it wasn't very lit in there anyway (romantic lighting) .

I had  the Crisp skin ocean trout on prawn, chive & crème fraiche mash with baby
beets & goats cheese followed by bitter chocolate tart & textures of raspberry. M had the roasted lamb backstrap on crushed peas, feta & pine nuts with wild rocket & pomegranate  followed by baked caramel cheesecake w’ honeycomb & fresh strawberries. I was so full by the end but this may be my favourite restaurant. It is right on the water and probably because of the weather there was maybe 8 people in there.

In our rush to make our booking we forgot the umbrella which in Sydney's current climate was a bad idea. So we decided to leg it to the car. I did it in wedges. Uphill.  By the time I got to the car, my dress was stuck to me and I couldn't get any wetter. M and I had to pull the car over because we were laughing so hard. Needless to say , hot showers ensued.

Warming the tootsies up. Yes my heater is very radiant.

First outfit post

So, I will figure this out eventually but this is my first outfit post. Today is my birthday. yay! I am 25 years young and I was luck enough to have the day off and have my wonderful friend attempt to plan a day for us. It was the ABC birthday. A for alcohol B for Balmain and C for cinema. We did A and C and substituted Balmain for Newtown. We went vintage/ retro / op shop shopping . I love the 50s and 60s retro look especially for the fact that it suits my figure.

second hand portmans dress $30.
I think that this cut is really nice and  I LOVE LOVE LOVE that it is now common out in the shops.
I also bought a Dangerfield dress/ revival dress that I wanted to keep from M (for the moment) so I wont post it but I LOVE it. I was pretty sensible because I only bought those two items.

We also went to see Like Crazy at the Dendy. It is a love story and the review I watched said that a lot of the dialogue was improvised which added to it. Their relationship is quite marred with obstacles that could have been prevented by them and it made it a bit painful/ cringey to watch. What I mean is that  you want them to be all happy but their decisions make things difficult. Anyway. I would recommend it if you want something to talk about with your girlfriends. Also we were one of 6 people in the cinemas. Perfect.

Now I am waiting for M to come over and we are going out to dinner. I am wearing the dress I posted about. :D Such a good way to enter my 'mid twenties'

Packing

So, this is what I have spent my day creating. Mum works at a hospital too and raided the back dock for boxes, hense the sterile procedure packs. Last move I had a bunch of Caesarean boxes.

Should I mention that is the contents from my bookshelf and under my bed only. There are at least 3 more from the kitchen and I haven't attacked my wardrobe.....yet.
