Twenty Twelve

So, M and I rang in the new year relatively quietly with a friend at his house. A combination of chatting, some drinking and playing PS3 motion games. It hit midnight and M and I had our obligatory New Years kiss. Then we came to the realisation that we are getting married this year. Just 10 Months and 16 days and about 1.5 hrs or as countdown timer homepage says 320 days and 3 hours..... (it is a bit our)

So Happy New Year to everyone. I hope your 2012 is as exciting, productive and fulfilling as I hope mine to be.

One of those days

So, I am having one of THOSE days. Fidgety, can't be bothered but need to do something kind of days.

We tentatively booked our ceremony at a church. All we were supposed to do was go and have a look at it. And also as far as I was concerned we hadn't completely decided where we were having the ceremony as we are having the old church vs garden debate. So this probably adds to the Fidgety, cant be bothered but need to do something kind of days.

Christmas Day, Boxing Day

So, Christmas 2011 is done. I completed tour de Sydney. Satisfactorily gave out presents and came home with a little bundle myself. Digital camera, cook books, casserole  pot, chopping boards, shoes, dress, singlets. Apparently because we are getting married I need to learn how to cook. I love that my mum hasn't attempted to give me domestic items. I think I get my domesticlessness (sp?) from her and I love that.

M and I have been looking at houses and units to buy together lately and as we don't live together yet we are trying to get into something as soon as possible. I've lived out of home since I was 20 and M, at 25 is still at home. Sooooo keen to try and find something soon. My FMIL still thinks that M is moving out when we get married. If we buy something , then there is definitely 2 of us going to be living there pre marriage.

Christmas Eve

So , because this years 'Summer' weather has been disappointing to say the least, I haven't really found the Christmas spirit.

At work we have been wearing the Christmas hats to get ourselves and our patients in the mood for the season and the carols have been playing through the P.A system. but I'm a bit Bah Humbug about it all.

This is our first Christmas as fiancée and fiancée . Which will be all very nice and dandy. I already know and have tried on my present from M. He got me my first bikini in over 10 years. His enthusiasm in buying it is probably more his benefit than for mine. For the last 12 weeks I have been doing Michelle Bridges 12 Week Body Transformation I managed to lose 8 kg and drop 2 dress sizes and make me a little bit more confident about my body. I have been indulging in the Christmas spirit in the food side of thing because there have been many dinners and lunches to celebrate the occasion

The Christmas Itinerary:
Tonight we are off to my Mums for a BBQ as we aren't spending a lot of time with her tomorrow.
Staying at my house tonight and opening presents with M and my Housemate P.
Driving back to Mums in the morning to open presents and pick up my brothers who havent bothered to get licences or cars ( one is only 16 so he has an excuse) but the other is nearly 23 and needs to get his butt into gear . But I digress.
Then we drive to Dads across country to have Christmas lunch at his house
Following this we drive to M's aunty and uncles place for the end of their Christmas lunch and present opening. After that we may or may not go back to mums but it all depends on how buggered we are.
Boxing Day- we are going to my Mums side to have lunch. This Boxing day tradition started because everyone had to go cross country and were too tired to eat anything that my grandmother had cooked. Soo that will be the day that I get to relax because I am currently on call until 8 am Monday morning when someone else gets the pager. Until then.... no alcohol and no travelling more than an hour away from work. Unless someone is in catastrophic trouble , I probably won't get called in tomorrow because it will cost the hospital way too much money to call us in with call in rates on top of public holiday rates.

Our Christmas tree lit up.

Bridal Party

I asked my last bridesmaid today!!!! I was so excited and so was she!! I have been waiting for her to come back from her overseas trip and I finally got to ask her. I was so excited that I almost stole my lunch. We had thai food and I asked her at the end and we were too busy being excited that I forgot to pay and just walked off. Until the lady came running after me. Whoops! I gave a tip I promise.

My Name is K.

So I've done this blog business thing before and haven't followed  it through. One of my New Year resolutions for 2012 is to finish everything that I start, hence I will (try) to regularly update this as I plan our wedding.

So, the wedding. My home page is a countdown timer saying 334 Days, 5 Hours,  58 Minutes and a few seconds until all this planning and waiting will be over. I think the timer is actually a few hours out but every time I open my web browser it is a bit of a reminder that we are 11 months out and I need to get a wriggle on.

So, who am I? I'm K. A 24 Year old allied health worker from Sydney, Australia. Who am I Marrying? M. A 25 Year old IT worker also from Sydney.

We met when we were in Year 12 and we've been together mostly since then. On October 7th this year M asked me to marry him wearing his daggiest pants in the Four Seasons Hotel in Circular Quay. Ever since then, we've been on a planning whirlwind, booking our reception within the first month. And then... Nothing. We are interviewing a few photographers at the moment but other than that ....bubkis.

So, here begins our journey.
